Here's an update on our garden. Thanks to the expertise of my friends and neighbors, Sheila, Lori, Tessa, Amber and Uncle Verl, my vegetable garden is in full bloom. As previously posted, we decided to try square foot gardening this year and it has worked out so well. Also, we continued planting most of our tomatoes in buckets and some of the vegies in flower pots. This year we've planted tomatoes (lemon boy, grape, pear, roma, and tumbler), spaghetti squash, butternut squash, honeydew, cantaloupe, strawberries, watermelon, spinach, cilantro, lettuce, bell peppers, jalapenos, red/yellow peppers and cucumbers. I think that's it.

So far, everything is growing beautifully, although my cilantro, lettuce and spinach have now gone to seed (
thanks for the info Uncle Verl).

Anyway, I had so many tomato plants in buckets this year that I ended up giving two of them to Mom. I hope they will yield plenty of tomatoes for her and Quinn. I was pleased the spaghetti sqaush grew so quickly since I was a bit late growing them from seeds that Sheila and Lori gave me, and I'm hoping the butternut squash will survive the replant from their garden. They told me how to plant potatoes, so I'm going to try that next year. If Tessa reminds me, I'll be planting green beans next month. Maybe I'll take photos of my friends vegetable gardens and post them on here.
