Waddaweek!!!

Just a few things I've been up to:

And what a week it was!!! I thought I could keep myself pretty busy, but I didn't think I would be that busy until this past week. After Nick and Ali left for Texas on Monday, I had a couple of days of my regular Mummy duties, confirming afterschool pickups and babysitting arrangements with friends, but then...
Wednesday night: rolled around. I went to a pre-(BYU) Womens Conference(WC) get-together for TwilightMOMS(TM) at the Brick Oven and met some awesome folks who share the love Tiani and I have for the Twilight series... best of all, they're mums just like me! ;)
Thursday morning: popped up and I found myself, scattering around getting things in order before taking off with my fabulous mother-in-law, Marla, to WC. Tiani took off to school, leaving Deuce to help me make sack lunches for the boys as I got some last minute things done. He was such a big help that morning. Deuce and Anson headed off to the bus stop while Mom and I drove the rest of my kiddies to our friends, Ofa and Mark. Then, we dropped off Ofa's kiddos at their school on our way out. Last month, I bought a WC ticket for Marla as an early birthday present. I knew she had never been to WC, so I thought this would be an awesome event for her! We could only attend the Thursday conference because of her schedule. I wish we could have attended the Friday conference, especially since President Monson was the closing session speaker. Anyway, we met up with Beth, her MIL and SIL and with a few TMs during the conference and did classes throughout the day. The classes I took were fabulous!!! Sis. Sheri Dew spoke during opening session and what an amazing speaker she is. She's such a riot! Elder and Sis. Bateman did the closing session and I loved their talks. Aside from suffering with pain due to the repletion of Malianna's dairy supply, I still had a wonderful time and have even felt the Spirit (over my discomfort). After the closing session, I treated Mom to a buffet dinner at Legends Grille on campus... what true Poly doesn't like a buffet, hmmm? We waited... and waited... and waited... it seem like forever, apparently others who stood way behind us, formed their own line to the buffet, which caused the line we were in to come to a halt. I was getting a bit grumpy and snippy (I had only a granola bar that day and being diabetic with insulin pumped into my system every hour, I was on the verge of taking someone down). Another lady who stood a few folks behind us, spoke to the manager and addressed the problem with the other "cutters" line. Honestly, that poor manager had no crowd control experience. He stood there and smiled and tried to move both lines along. At the time, I saw him as a weakling, but now as I think of it, he had the Christ-like attributes that I need to work on. I think we must have waited for nearly 50 minutes before we finally served ourselves and then we had to wait for some of the dishes to be refilled. Anyhow, when we FINALLY sat down and ate, I was happy with the meal of salmon, chicken, salads, etc. Oh, it was so *ono* (delicious)! Once my blood sugar was up again, I was feeling great! After din-din, we walked around the Student Athletic Bldg and admired the accomplishments of past "Y" athletes, including that of Steve Young. Then we decided to catch the WC movie at the Tanner Bldg. Let me just tell you how tiring of a walk that can be on a full tummy. We weren't quite sure where the Tanner Bldg was, so we got directions from a young lad who had parked his shuttle van nearby and who was way too eager to state he was there to pick up the presenters (speakers), only. I assured the eager beaver that I only needed directions to the Tanner complex. He gave us directions and off we went. Huffing and puffing in the cold air, I found myself longing for the warmth confines of my own home. The "Y" had shuttles for us conference attendees, but finding one when we most needed it was never convenient. We finally saw the building, but we weren't sure how to get into it since it was undergoing construction. Luckily for us, we saw a "Blue Angel." These "Blue Angels" are easily spotted by the blue vest they sport and are made up of a group of volunteer sisters who are guides for us lost sheep. ;) Anyway, we were relieved to see a "Blue Angel" and she showed us the way into the building. When we got in, we changed our mind about the movie (typical femmes), since it wouldn't finish in time for us to go to the concert at the Marriott Ctr. So, off we went again... walking into the crisp cold air. Geeeez, I felt like I had walked 20 miles by that point. I was exhausted and my feet were about to fall off. But the concert, which showcased Michael McLean, Kenneth Cope, Hillary Weeks, Eclipse, and others, was awesome! We didn't get home until after 10 p.m. I had a great time with Mom and we're planning to attend next year's WC, this time for the full two days. I can't wait! You know, I really, really missed my children. I found my thoughts turning to them constantly throughout the day. It was the first time I was away from Malianna for such an extended period of time. At the end of the day, I was simply happy to be home with my hubby and children. They make my house into a home. I love them so much!
On Friday: another busy day... had errands to run and tried to catch up on housework that I missed on Thursday. Then in the evening, I met up with the TMs at Los Hermanos. I tell ya, I felt like I was at a bachelorette party (LDS-tamed, though)... that's how fun it was.
Then came Saturday: Scott and I attended a baptism for one of the boys in our Primary class. It was wonderful, but we were pretty bummed we couldn't stay for his confirmation. We had to rush off to Salt Lake. Quinnie-boy came over to watch the boys because Tiani was at BYU with two of her friends, attending workshops on college preparation. We had to drop off Malia at Vao and Lafo's home on our way to the Salt Lake Temple for an endowment/sealing of one of my distant cousins, Sherwin, and his wife, Siniva. It was such a beautiful sealing and when their little daughter entered the room, my River Jordans were overflowing. There was such a sweet spirit in that room. Then, we had to rush back to Vao and Lafo's so that I could relieve the pressure from the dairy plant. My hubs then took me (and Malia), out to dinner. I love my weekly dates with my hubby and I love having the time to be "alone" with him. Afterwards, we headed home to the awaiting chaos. Actually, it wasn't too bad at all. It was nice to settle down and listen to the "sounds" of our home. Well, that's a summary of most of our happenings this past week. There's more, but I don't want to turn this post into a 700 page novel. So, I'll end it here for now.
